Jonesboro Country Club Golf Pro Lee Brun

Lee’s Corner

The golf season has finally hit the ground and started running at Jonesboro Country Club. The weather has been up and down like a yo-yo, but the membership has been out to enjoy the course quite frequently. The JCC Fun Fest was a huge success and the membership came out in record numbers to make the event even more successful!

The beginning of golf season means that more and more carts are going to be driven over to the club and we would just like to remind everyone of the cart rules that apply to the kids. They are as follows:

1.      Members of PRIVATELY OWNED carts may seek a waiver for 14 and 15 year olds at the golf shop. Improper operation will result in the cancellation of the waiver at the discretion of the Golf Committee. NO CHILD under the age of 14 can operate a golf cart on club property.

2.    Carts shall be operated in a careful and safe manner at all times.

3.    Golf carts may not be driven any closer than 20 yards to any green or marked areas, except when a cart path is being utilized, or signs require a return to the cart path.

4.    No more than TWO riders are allowed on any golf cart.

5.     Signs, cart paths and ropes will guide the direction of carts.

6.    Golf carts may not leave the cart path on any Par 3 hole.

7.     When driving from home to the golf course or pool area, the driver must go on a direct path to the desired location. NO DRIVING around the golf course when NOT playing golf.

8.    Members are fully responsible for any injury to person or property, including damage to the golf cart while in their use by members of their family or their guests. Neither the Club nor Golf Professional shall be liable for any injury to person or property, which might result from use of a golf cart.

9.    All body parts must remain within the golf cart at all times for safety reasons.

If you have any questions regarding any of these regulations, please stop by the golf shop and we will be happy to help you. We are hoping for another safe and happy summer at the club!

All PRIVATELY OWNED golf carts whether used for golfing, tennis, or as a means of transportation to and from the golf course, MUST have a TRAIL FEE sticker. These stickers are renewed every year on July 1 and cost $250 for the year. Any cart found without a sticker will be given one and the account will be charged accordingly. For any information regarding the trail fee, please contact the main office at 932-2371 or Lee/Krissy at 932-2410.

The JCC Fun Fest was contested on Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18, here at the club. The tournament was a huge success with 80 2-man teams competing for the prizes. The weather forecast for the week-end was a little shaky, but we managed to get a full day’s worth of golf in on Saturday and on Sunday.
